      The instituting of the Eshleman, Pankake, Wolf Post 9639 was held October 28, 1947 at Shellsville, Pa.  Pennsylvania Department Past Commander Nelson McCloskey presided and was assisted by Past Department Commander Colby.
     The obligations were given by Past Commander McCloskey. Officers installed by the Commander are as follows:

     Resignation by John Lingle accepted. Jr Vice Commander John Via elected to Post Commander to fill term vacated by John Lingle.
     Cards sent out for a special meeting for February 17, 1948 for the purpose of renting a Post Home. Charles Leedy gave a proposition of renting his property at Bow Creek.
     February 17, 1948 - Committee met with Charles Leedy and also decided to see George Sanders about buying a tract of land for a building site.
      February 24, 1948 - At this meeting the report was given. The report reads that George Sanders wanted $2000.00 for a tract of land along Sand Beach Road. It was decided to hold over until next meeting night and have every member look for a tract of land. At this meeting Robert Atticks made a motion to organize a Ladies Auxiliary.
     July 23, 1948 - A vote was taken on the purchase of the Sanders property. The vote was in favor of buying it.
     March 14, 1950 - A committee was appointed by Commander John Via to inquire about a satisfactory bar for the Post. They will also include stools.
     June 27, 1950 - Argument about fans for windows which won't work. No satisfaction.
     July 11, 1950 - Unfinished business-Fan ordered.  Motion made to chance off a television set.
     August 8, 1950 - Motion made to by (28) chairs for Post. Motion also made to sell silo for offered price.
     May 14, 1951 - Motion made to have Dusty Atticks lawn mower sharpened.
     October 29, 1951 - Anniversary Banquet date set as November 30th.
     Sunday, January 13, 1952 - Authorized Commander Harold Suhr and Comrade John Atticks, Sr to sign any and/or all papers for Liquor Control Board for club liquor license. Motion made to change meetings to second and fourth Sunday of each month.
     March 14, 1952 - Motion made to accept social members into club.
     October, 1953 - East Hanover Township school children given permission to use pasture field next to school to play. Motion also made to serve eats to women when they meet the fourth Thursday of the month.
     May 27, 1954 - It was decided to dig a hole for septic tank on Wednesday night.
     July 22, 1954 - Motion was made to send Harold Suhr a case of beverage.
     July 26, 1956 - Committee to look into plans for proposed new home appointed by Commander Gochenaur.
     September 11, 1958 - Motion made to start own burial fund. One dollar from dues to go into fund. Commander to appoint committee to see if Ladies Auxiliary is interested.
     May 28, 1959 - Committee for building pavilion appointed.
     November 12, 1959 - Motion made for John Lingle to make arrangements for New Year's Eve party.
     January 10, 1963 - Leonard Mader authorized to get Confederate flags for Memorial Day.
     May 23, 1963 - Military funeral was held for George Newell who was killed May 16, 1963.  Funeral held May 20.  Color Guard and pallbearers from Post Home 9639.  Firing Squad from Lebanon VFW. Honorary pallbearers from Annville Legion Post.  George was installed as Commander on May 14, 1963.
     Harold Suhr was nominated, elected and installed as Commander. Sr Vice Commander and Jr Vice Commander declining.
     August 22, 1963 - A meeting is being held at Steelton VFW on Sunday, August 25, to form a County Council.
     September 12, 1963 - A meeting is being held September 22 at Penbrook concerning the County Council.
     September 26, 1963 - Post 9639 voted on going along with the County Council.  Received $1.00 from Met Ed to cut down one of the trees in front of the club.
     March 26, 1964 - Delegates for Dauphin County Council were nominated and elected.
     October 22, 1964 - Resignation of John Lingle as Steward will be accepted by Commander Earl M Suhr.  Applications for Steward will be accepted until October 29 at which time a meeting will be held.
     October 29, 1964 - Election held for the position of Steward. Mel Gochenaur is the new Steward.
     April 22, 1965 - A motion was made to elect four members, plus the Commander to a Board of Dorectors to manage the Club including the hiring and firing of the Steward. A motion was made that the directors select the colors to paint the upstairs and see that it is painted.
     May 13, 1965 - Motion was made to sponsor a little league baseball team. A motion was also made to donate $10.00 for the outstanding pupil of Shellsville School.
     May 27, 1965 - Motion was made to donate $100.00 to East Hanover Midget Baseball Association.
     November 25, 1965 - Motion made to send flowers to deceased Social Members as well as Active Members.
     April 28, 1966 - A motion was made to donate an award of $10.00 to the outstanding student in the East Hanover Elementary School on Graduation Day.
     August 25, 1966 - Discussion on adding a section to the pavilion.
     October 13, 1966 - Motion was made to purchase Santa Claus uniform. Price not to exceed $25.00.  The suit may be loaned for charitable purposes but must be returned to the Club in good condition.
     March 9, 1967 - A motion was made to donate $25.00 to the State Police Civic Association for an ad in their program.
     October 12, 1967 - Discussion on 20th Anniversary which will be held on October 27.
     September 28, 1968 - Motion made to pay half the price for a sliding board for the East Hanover Elementary School. Motion also made to give Halloween Committee of Grantville $25.00 for prizes.
     January 9, 1969 - Report on Christmas Party.  Had 75 gifts and were three short.
     November 13, 1969 Motion was made to purchase Christmas gifts for 200 children and what's left over to send to the Scotland School.
     August 13, 1970 - A motion was made that we build an addition to the present building. A motion was made that the Commander appoint a Building Committee to draw up plans for proposed building.
