The Post was granted a Charter from the Veterans of Foreign Wars National Headquarters on October 28, 1947. The Post was named for the three servicemen from East Hanover Township who were killed in action during World War II. These men were:

The early meetings of the Post were held at the home of the parents of Robert and Judy Atticks in Shellsville, PA. Several sites for a Post home were under consideration at that time, including Bow Creek Hotel or the Shellsville Hotel; but it was decided to purchase a farm and house at the west end of the town of Shellsville and the farmhouse became the Post Home. The building remained basically the same until the interior was remodeled in 1971-72. Today the Post has 615 active members and the Ladies' Auxiliary has 432 active members.
The Post has been active in the community for the past several years sponsoring Youth Baseball and Softball; Youth Football; scholastic awards at the area schools; decoration of the Veterans' graves at Memorial Day Services and a community picnic. The Post also sponsors the annual Easter Egg Hunt for the community and has helped various other individuals and organizations in this area.
The active membership meets at 7:30 PM every fourth Thursday of the month at the Post Home located at 8926 Jonestown Road, Grantville, PA 17028 717-469-2195
